Making your images look great before posting them to OPS is critical to your studio's brand and success. OPS offers multiple image processing services to help ensure your images meet the industry's highest quality standards.
Important: Image Processing services must be enabled before uploading your image files.
How to Order Image Processing Services
- Open your OPS Project.
- Click Options.
- Select the Image Processing tab.
- Choose the Image Processing option that best fits your project.
- Save your settings.
- Upload your image files.
Note: Image Processing settings must be selected before files are uploaded.
OPS/ACI Color Correction Services
OPS/ACI Color Correction is ideal for studios that prefer ACI to handle image color correction and density adjustments.
Two correction options are available:
- Global Color Correction
Individual Color Correction
Global Color Correction
Global Color Correction is recommended for volume photography projects photographed on the same background with the same lighting.
An ACI Color Technician will review the project and apply a single correction to all images in the project.
Cost: Free
Important: Projects that are not suitable for Global Color Correction may automatically be moved to Individual Color Correction.
Individual Color Correction
Individual Color Correction is recommended for projects photographed under varying lighting conditions where exposure and color may not be consistent.
Each file is reviewed individually by an ACI Color Technician and adjusted as needed so color and density match as closely as possible across the project. (Fee)
Note: Extremely underexposed or overexposed files, files captured in the wrong color space, or files with incorrect white balance may not achieve acceptable results.
Green / Gray Screen Extraction Service
OPS/ACI Green Screen Extraction utilizes 36Pix as our exclusive knockout provider.
36Pix technology helps streamline the knockout process for fast turnaround and high-quality results.
Important: The Extract Green Screen option must be enabled before uploading image files.
How to Order Green / Gray Screen Extraction
- Open your OPS Project.
- Click Options.
- Select the Image Processing tab.
- Locate the Extract Green Screen section.
- Select Yes.
- Save the project settings.
- Upload your green screen image files.
Important: The Extract Green Screen setting must be enabled before files are uploaded.
Green / Gray Screen Knockouts
When Green Screen Extraction is enabled, OPS will process the uploaded green screen images. The green background will be removed and each image will be converted into a transparent PNG file.
Turnaround Time: Normal completion time is approximately 1–2 business days.
Best Practice: We strongly recommend submitting a Green Screen Test project before sending production files.
Studio Self-Extract Green / Gray Screen Knockout Workflow
Critical Note: It is extremely important for studios handling their Green Screen Knockouts outside the OPS environment to follow the workflow below. Failure to follow these instructions may result in additional hours of extra work and needless remakes.
Working with Green Screen Files That Have NOT Been Knocked Out
Using a copy of your project’s JPG or RAW files, shot with either QR Codes or an Opticon scanner, use your normal Lightroom or Bridge workflow to import, cull, crop, and correct your images.
- Export your JPG or RAW files out of Lightroom or Bridge as JPG files.
- Use an 8x10 crop ratio.
- Export files sized at 80%.
- Make certain the files retain their original file names from the shoot.
Important: Original file names must be retained exactly. Absolutely no exceptions.
Upload the JPG Files to OPS
- Go to OPS.
- Upload a copy of the JPG files exported from Lightroom or Bridge to your project.
- Use the normal OPS QR Code or Opticon project posting recommendations.
Note: The JPG files uploaded at this stage should still have Green Screen backgrounds.
Verify Subject Matching
Double check your Subjects page to make sure all images posted to the project are assigned to the correct data.
Knock Out the Backgrounds
- Using a copy of the JPG files exported from Lightroom or Bridge, import the files into your Green Screen knockout software.
- Knock out the Green or Gray Screen backgrounds.
- If using a different Green Screen knockout service, send your files to your vendor for knockout services.
Confirm PNG File Names
After all Green Screen background files have been extracted, the file name extensions will change from .jpg to .png.
Critical Requirement: The knocked-out PNG files must export with the exact same file names as the original files, except with the .png extension.
Example:
- Original File:
IMG_1234.jpg - Knocked-Out File:
IMG_1234.png
Upload the Knocked-Out PNG Files
- Return to your project’s Subjects screen.
- Click the Subject Actions tab.
- Select Add / Merge Image Files Only.
- Upload the knocked-out PNG files.
OPS will overwrite the existing JPG files with the new knocked-out PNG files as long as the files still have the same file names.
